Halloween – do you like walking in the dark?

There are tons of horror stories about Halloween on the Internet; clergy are roaring, patriots are shouting „This is not a Christian tradition!” and most parents see nothing wrong with dressing their children up as witches or zombies.

When I first heard about Halloween and saw it being celebrated, I only had one thought: It’s laughing at death and it’s fun! For many years to come, I didn’t know what to make of Halloween. Even as a Christian, I had contradictory feelings, unable to find anything wrong with pumpkins or hanging cobwebs. Only one thing I didn’t like.

But I decided to pursue the topic like a pumpkin  assisted by the Holy Spirit. Here are the effects.

Somehow it so happens that what is traditional, age-old, related to the peculiar history of a given community, becomes tame at the same time. So if we read that Halloween is a Celtic (therefore ancient) holiday celebrated from October 31st to November 1st, in which space-time was suspended as creatures living underground came to the surface; they could kidnap and torment people – only laughter remains.

With time, however, it turned out that nothing works on all kinds of demons and creatures, not even prayer, faith and the spoken word of a Christian, so Jesus Christ has no power. It takes initiation into the world of demons, learning their language and spells to tame them. Yahweh God proves to be too „weak.”

Only one thing I didn’t like.

When I got to know God’s world and the laws of His kingdom, I saw that His world is ruled by light. Because where God is, there is not even a shadow. Meanwhile, Halloween is dark, sprinkled with pumpkin lanterns with a distorted smile. It is ubiquitous gray, black and blood. Sometimes you try to make it a merry party with unicorns in the background, but it always ends up being a masquerade. And it is worth staying where God is – in the light.

The sun gives life. There is no existence on our planet without it. If something wants to live, it has to strive for the light. Halloween creatures want to stay in the dark – this is their world.

Since He compares my new outfit, my new cladding to the light, because He has given me the immaculate white robe of the Lamb, the sooty, tousled witch’s disguise no longer fits.

Where God is, there is genuine joy and laughter – not an ominous chuckle.

Halloween makes sense at dusk – then what is afraid of everyday light goes outside; all dark doings, monsters. The night in the Bible, however, has a metaphorically pejorative meaning:

“There are those who rebel against the light,   who do not know its ways  or stay in its paths. When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up,  kills the poor and needy,  and in the night steals forth like a thief. The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk;  he thinks, ‘No eye will see me,’ and he keeps his face concealed.” (Job 24, 13 – 15 )

Everyone who accepted Jesus has come out of the darkness! He can walk during the day, because he does not plan anything bad and is not ashamed of himself.

Death

We do a lot to get used to death, including killing virtual enemies in video games. Pre-computer mankind found another method: the imposition of death’s red clown nose. Dressing it up in funny outfit, giving Satan a funny, harmless expression. But we can draw on what Jesus truly did – and He overcame death.

John Ramirez

A man who was a Satanist, a spiritualist, a priest of Satan says:

„Halloween is one of the most important holidays for Satanists” and „Halloween is an insult to a holy God.”

John Ramirez is not one of the thundering Christians who prefer to breathe cold. He had made a pact with Satan in the past, talked to him every day, Satan was his father, and he had his power.

Today he is a follower of Jesus and does not scare anyone. He speaks from the perspective of light.

It’s just fun!

„It’s just fun!” – people say, parents say, sending them to a Halloween party. And anyone remembers what Satan said to the first people just before doing something as normal and harmless as picking a fruit from a tree? “You will not certainly die” (Genesis 3:4)
Satan did not order them to kill each other or do anything that would raise their doubts. He used something good and healthy – a fruit.

An interesting thing is Halloween costumes; people disguise themselves as someone they are not. They are looking for another „incarnation”. You may not know it, but Satan has no right to be on earth – he is not a being with a tangible body. So just as Jesus had to come to earth in flesh – to be faithful to the Word, to be fully „legally” fully human, so Satan is constantly looking for bodies into which he can enter to work through them. He needs costumes that he can hide in.

And the question arises: If I believe in God, God and Jesus is my savior, should I follow the Satanists on their day, sharing the fun with them? I don’t do it on a daily basis – I don’t attend their rituals, I stay away from their meeting places, why should I connect with them on this one day? I don’t want to share any celebration, any ball with Satanists, in the same spirit in addition.

So tell me: What is there to celebrate? What to be happy about?

When Satan celebrates death, God celebrates life. Therefore

„Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14)

Let us rather rejoice that Jesus died and rose quickly, thanks to which each of us – everyone who accepts this truth with his heart, will not die, but will live forever. In his presence :- )

They rejoice in your name all day long;   they celebrate your righteousness. For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn” (Psalm 89: 16-17)
